Bengaluru, July 29 -- Prevention through awareness and cyber hygiene remains the most effective defence against online fraud as recovering stolen money becomes increasingly difficult once it moves through multiple banking channels, Karnataka Director General of Police (CID and Cyber Command) Dr Pronab Mohanty said on Wednesday.
Speaking after launching the DigiKavach cyber safety application, Mohanty said cyber criminals are becoming more sophisticated, often operating across state and international borders, making recovery of stolen funds a complex process.
