Lucknow, May 14 -- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's step brother, Prateek Yadav, who passed away on Wednesday at age 38, was cremated here on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased's father-in-law Arvind Singh Bisht lit the funeral pyre amid the presence of family members and leaders of SP and BJP.
Prateek's wife Aparna is vice-president of the state women commission and a senior BJP leader.
Akhilesh Yadav along with his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav was present at the Bhaisakund crematorium. The SP chief placed wood on his brother's pyre.
Prateek's two minor daughters were also present at the cremation ground.
