Patna, July 13 -- Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor today filed his nomination papers for the Bankipur Assembly by-election, describing the contest as a battle to change Bihar's political leadership and ensure greater accountability in governance.

Before filing his nomination, Kishor led a massive padyatra that began from the Scout and Guide Ground and passed through Kotwali, Dak Bungalow, S.P. Verma Road, JP Golambar and Gandhi Maidan before culminating at the Patna Collectorate.

Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination, Kishor said the occasion was not merely about his candidature but represented a larger movement for political change in Bihar.
