Hubballi, July 4 -- union Minister and senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka, alleging serious procedural deviations in the ongoing voter verification exercise being conducted by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across the state.

The SIR drive, aimed at door-to-door verification and cleansing of electoral rolls, is being carried out under the supervision of the Election Commission of India to identify deceased voters, permanently shifted electors and ineligible entries. However, Joshi alleged that the process on the ground is deviating from its core objective.
