Kakinada, May 31 -- A poultry farm worker allegedly murdered his wife by slitting her throat with a knife while under the influence of alcohol at Kapavaram village in Biccavolu mandal of Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada district on Sunday, police said.

The victim was identified as Usha, while the accused is her husband Surendra.

Both were employed at a poultry farm in Kapavaram village, about 30 km from Kakinada.

According to police, Surendra and Usha had reportedly fallen in love while working in Odisha and later got married. Investigators said the couple had recently been experiencing frequent domestic disputes.

Surendra was also allegedly suspicious of his wife's fidelity.
