Puducherry, March 24 -- Scrunity of nominations filed for the April nine Assembly elections in the union Territory of Puducherry began on Tuesday.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) in a last night update, said a total of 514 nominations were filed by 442 candidates for a total of 30 seats to the Territorial Assembly.
During today's scrutiny nominations which were not found in order would be rejected.
The elections in the UT would primarily witness a three-cornered contest, with the ruling AINRC-led NDA headed by its Founder President and Chief Minister N Rangasamy, the Opposition Congress-DMK INDI Alliance and the nascent Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of actor-politician Vijay, whose party would be testing its electoral fortunes fo...
