Ch. Sambhajinagar, March 18 -- A political row has erupted in Maharashtra after a letter related to an inquiry into BJP MLA Narendra Mehta surfaced online.
The letter, reportedly bearing the signature of the state's Revenue Minister, described Mehta as a "land mafia" and called for a probe into pending government dues amounting to Rs 120 crore.
Reacting to the development, Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader Ambadas Danve said it was significant that such a term had been used by a minister for a member of his own party.
However, he stressed that mere words were not enough, adding that the real test would lie in the implementation of the directions mentioned in the letter.
