Lucknow, July 10 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati on Friday said that political power is the "master key" to the empowerment of Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and other deprived communities.
She said that Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar also considered political power essential for the effective use of the rights of these communities.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Mayawati described Dr. Ambedkar as the messiah of millions of Dalits and deprived communities and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. She said that through his vision, wisdom, and struggle, he ensured numerous constitutional and legal rights for communities suffering from caste discrimination and oppression.
