Mumbai, July 6 -- Political confrontation in Maharashtra between the two Shiv Sena factions intensified on Monday, with leaders from the ruling Shinde-led camp stepping up attack on the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) group over its ongoing internal turmoil and ahifting political strategies.
Industry Minister Uday Samant, representing the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena dismissed the relevance of emergency meetings called by Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday to address recent defections, arguing that such efforts cannot prevent leaders who have already decided to leave.
"Meetings cannot halt the departure of those who have made up their minds. We have already seen MPs leave despite similar efforts earlier," Samant told reporters.
