Itanagar, Feb. 21 -- In a tragic incident, a police officer was killed in a wild elephant attack at Sunpura near Tezu in Lohit district, Arunachal Pradesh, on Saturday morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Tezu, Ojing Lego, the deceased has been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Martin Lego of Sunpura Police Station.
He had reportedly gone for a morning stroll at Patthar Ghat along with two others when they were suddenly confronted by a wild elephant at around 10 am.
"While the two accompanying persons managed to escape and informed others after reaching home, the matter was conveyed telephonically to Sunpura Police Station at around 12 noon," the DySP said.
