Ashok RainaDharamshala, Aug. 7 -- A fresh political controversy has erupted in Himachal Pradesh over recent police transfer orders, with BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma accusing the Congress-led Sukhu government of using the police machinery for political purposes instead of focusing on law and order.

Reacting to the transfer orders issued by the Kangra Superintendent of Police's office, Sharma alleged that officers who took action against political opponents were being rewarded with favourable postings, while those performing their law-and-order duties impartially were being shifted.
