Kolkata, June 13 -- A large contingent of state and Kolkata Police personnel reached the Kalighat residence of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee in the early hours of Saturday, triggering fresh political speculation amid multiple ongoing investigations involving the MP.
According to local sources, police teams arrived at the Patua Para residence shortly after 3 a.m. and were accompanied by personnel of the central forces, who remained deployed outside the house.
After repeatedly calling out to the occupants and waiting for a considerable period, the officers were eventually allowed to enter the premises.
Sources said officials from Salboni Police Station were part of the team, along with women police officers.
