Panchkula, Aug. 5 -- Haryana Police arrested a man for allegedly defrauding a finance company of nearly Rs 17 lakh by exploiting the gold loan transfer process and failing to deposit the pledged gold after repaying his previous loan.

He has been remanded to two days of police custody for further questioning.

A Haryana Police spokesman stated that Ajay Singh, son of Ram Lal and resident of Nathaur village, was arrested by Civil Lines Police Station, Sirsa, which is investigating the case under relevant sections related to cheating.
