Srinagar, July 27 -- Police in Srinagar district on Monday attached immovable properties worth around Rs 5.6 crore of eight persons under the provisions of Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, in a major crackdown on assets allegedly acquired through illicit drug trafficking.

Police said the action was aimed at dismantling the financial network of narcotics traffickers by targeting properties identified as proceeds of the illegal drug trade.

According to officials, Police Station Chanapora attached seven immovable properties belonging to eight accused involved in separate NDPS cases.

The attached assets include properties of Mohammad Yaseen Rather, Suhail Rashid Haroon, Mohammad Asif Rather, Ars...
