Panchkula, Sept. 8 -- Petroleum and natural gas companies must now provide complete, accurate, and timely regulatory data under a new framework of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).

Violations may result in a civil penalty of up to Rs 1 crore per contravention, with an additional penalty of up to Rs 10 lakh for each day the violation continues.

The regulator has issued the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Databank and Information System) Regulations, 2026, establishing a framework for collecting, verifying, and publishing information across the sector.
