Chandigarh, Aug. 2 -- Thousands of students at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Jalandhar on Sunday joined a nationwide outreach programme linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat', pledging to support the campaign against substance abuse and spread awareness among young people.
The event drew participation from more than 5,000 students and was attended by BJP Rajya Sabha MP and LPU Chancellor Ashok Kumar Mittal, who said the fight against drugs should be treated as a national mission rather than an issue confined to Punjab.
"The problem of drug abuse extends from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. We have to tackle it together, but it is wrong to assume that every young person is involved in drugs," he said.
