New Delhi, May 26 -- Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who is in New Delhi for the Quad foreign ministers' meeting, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would travel to Australia in the "near future," even as India's growing global influence echoed strongly in the Australian Parliament.
"My Prime Minister has today announced that Prime Minister Modi will visit Australia in the very near future," she said while addressing the media.
"We very much look forward to PM Modi coming to Australia as a friend of our Prime Minister, as an important comprehensive strategic partner, but also because the Indian diaspora is such a valued part of our Australian community," she said.
