New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, remembering the veteran BJP leader as an exceptional statesman whose vision, leadership and commitment to public service left a lasting imprint on the country.
Vajpayee, who served as Prime Minister three times, died on August 16, 2018, at the age of 93 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Vajpayee as an "extraordinary statesman blessed with remarkable vision" and recalled his lifelong dedication to the service of the nation.
