Kolkata, June 21 -- West Bengal hosted International Yoga Day under a BJP-led state government for the first time after the political change in the state, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main celebrations at Kolkata's Red Road on Saturday amid elaborate arrangements and tight security.
Prime Minister Modi arrived at the venue around 6.30 am and was greeted by chief minister Suvendu Adhikari and governor R N Ravi.
Even before his arrival, large crowds had started gathering at the venue. Sources said nearly 30,000-35,000 people were expected to participate in the programme with the Prime Minister.
