Visakhapatnam, Aug. 1 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually laid the foundation stone for ASIP Technologies' advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility at Tarluvada in Visakhapatnam, marking the launch of Andhra Pradesh's and South India's first semiconductor manufacturing facility approved under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM 1.0).
The Prime Minister also unveiled the plaque for the Rs 2,500-crore Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) project.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu joined the ceremony virtually.
