New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tashkent on Saturday on the first leg of his four-day Central Asia tour, receiving a warm and special welcome from Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who personally received him at the Tashkent International Airport.
The gesture by President Mirziyoyev underscored the growing warmth and strategic depth in relations between India and Uzbekistan as the two countries seek to expand cooperation across trade, connectivity, defence, energy and other key sectors.
