Varanasi, Oct. 25 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Arvind Limited's newly constructed garment manufacturing plant at Khochwan in Mirzamurad, Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency.
Spread across seven to eight acres and built at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore, the plant is expected to boost industrial activity in Purvanchal and generate new employment opportunities.
During his visit, the Prime Minister interacted with women undergoing training at the facility and enquired about their work, experiences and challenges. The company has prioritised the employment of local women. So far, more than 300 women have been recruited and are undergoing training at the plant.
