Chennai, July 17 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated nine redeveloped Amrit Stations coming under the Southern Railway via video conferencing from Punjab on Friday afternoon.
With the inauguration of nine redeveloped stations by the Prime Minister, the total number of Amrit Stations dedicated to the Nation under Southern Railway increased to 33.
The inauguration of nine stations in Southern Railway was part of the launch of 75 redeveloped Amrit Stations across the country at a function held at Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station in Punjab in the presence of Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and other dignitaries.
All the nine stations were redeveloped at a total cost of about Rs 135 crores.
