Dhaka/New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi on Tuesday termed the proposed visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as an opportunity to reset ties, and said he had conveyed the assurance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that when he visits India, PM Rahman will receive an honourable and warm welcome.

The Indian High Commissioner also called for a renewed effort by the two neighbours to overcome existing differences and rebuild bilateral ties on the foundation of "mutual and unconditional trust".

While acknowledging that differences exist between the two neighbours, the high commissioner said these could be addressed through sustained engagement and dialogue, Daily Sun reported.
