Mumbai/New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called for a new phase of growth in India's fintech sector, with innovation and financial inclusion as key priorities, while urging the industry to focus on cybersecurity, ethical data protection, regulatory innovation and consumer protection.
Addressing the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai after inaugurating the event, Modi said India's fintech ecosystem was expanding rapidly, driven by technology, youth participation and a willingness to take bold decisions.
He said India's economic growth had provided renewed confidence to the global community despite geopolitical conflicts, trade tensions and pressure on energy and commodity supply chains.
