New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called for deeper government-industry collaboration to accelerate India's semiconductor ambitions, urging leading global and Indian companies to actively participate in the next phase of growth as the country seeks to build capabilities across the entire semiconductor value chain.

Chairing a high-level Semiconductor Roundtable with industry leaders at Seva Teerth, Modi said India should aspire to be among the early leaders in emerging technologies and stressed that the country's growing strengths in talent, technology adoption and infrastructure provided a strong foundation for the next stage of semiconductor development.
