Varanasi, April 28 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Varanasi on Tuesday for a two-day visit during which he is set to launch and inaugurate major development initiatives worth around Rs 6,350 crore, spanning railways, roads, healthcare, water supply, tourism and urban infrastructure.

The Prime Minister reached the city and later flew by helicopter to Bareka from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport.

The Prime Minister will participate in a Mahila Sammelan (women's conference). In the evening, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several key projects and address a large gathering of women beneficiaries and participants.
