New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief over the deaths of at least nine people in a devastating bus fire in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased as well as those injured in the tragedy.
The Prime Minister said the next of kin of each person who died would receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF), while those injured would be provided Rs 50,000.
Expressing his distress over the incident, Modi extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those undergoing treatment.
