New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- India should leverage its growing trade footprint and healthcare capabilities to emerge as a global destination for pharmaceuticals, medical technology, wellness and healthcare services, union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, while calling for greater collaboration between industry, startups, academia and global technology companies.

Addressing the Pharma Machtech and Labnext Expo 2026 in New Delhi, Goyal said India must build on its position as the "pharmacy of the world" and expand its healthcare ecosystem beyond medicines and treatment.
