Agartala, July 29 -- Continuing a cherished tradition of goodwill, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday sent a seasonal gift of the state's renowned Kew pineapples to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman.
This genuine gesture, featuring 100 packets with a total of 600 premium pineapples, were dispatched through the Akhaura Integrated Check Post near Agartala. The handover followed all necessary customs and landport procedures.
Present at the border for the handover ceremony were Apurba Roy, Secretary of Tripura Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, and Pankajjyoti Das from the Assistant High Commission of India in Chittagong, among others.
