Kolkata, April 22 -- A petition challenging the restrictions imposed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on the use of two-wheelers before and during the West Bengal Assembly elections was filed at the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday.

The prayer has been filed in the court of Justice Krishna Rao.

The petitioner, advocate Ratnankar Das, has challenged the ECI directive that imposed blanket restrictions on the usage of two-wheelers.

Two-wheelers are one of the the most preferred modes of transport among a section of of office goers and form the backbone of the app-based gig economy including food deliveries.
