Hyderabad, Aug. 22 -- Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Saturday questioned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his proposed meeting with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani during his planned US visit and sought an explanation on how it would have benefited the state.
In a statement, Rao said the Ministry of External Affairs had rightly denied clearance for the Chief Minister's proposed US visit, alleging that Reddy had planned to meet individuals whose positions on India were controversial.
Rao said media reports had suggested that a proposed meeting with Mamdani was among the issues concerning the Chief Minister's US visit and questioned why the meeting was not disclosed as part of the official itinerary.
