Panhkula, Aug. 10 -- Bharat Pensioners Samaj (BPS) has put forward bold proposals to the 8th Central Pay Commission, calling for a minimum basic pay of Rs69,000, a 3.83 fitment factor, and a minimum pension of Rs45,000, along with sweeping reforms to pensions, dearness relief, healthcare, and commutation benefits.
During its presentation in New Delhi recently, BPS advocated setting pensions at 67% of Last Pay Drawn (LPD) and family pensions at 50% of LPD. The group also urged fair HRA and LTC benefits for pensioners, and called for pay and pension revisions every five years, rather than the current ten-year interval.
