Aizawl, June 30 -- Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday said the 1986 Mizoram Peace Accord laid the foundation for the state's remarkable progress over the past four decades,asserting that peace remains the key to Mizoram's continued development.
In his message on the 40th anniversary of Remna Ni (Peace Accord Day), the Chief Minister extended greetings to the people of Mizoram and Zo communities living across the world.
He also paid tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives for the land and the Mizo people.
Lalduhoma said the two decades of insurgency had virtually brought development in Mizoram toa standstill, and it was only after peace was restored through the signing of the Peace Accord in 1986 that the state was able to embark...
