Mumbai, Sept. 22 -- Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has called for protecting the Tata Group's legacy and institutional autonomy amid the ongoing differences between Tata Sons and Tata Trusts, stressing that the issue should be resolved in accordance with statutory and corporate governance norms.
In a special public statement addressing the escalating friction, Pawar emphasized that the 66 percent ownership structure held by Tata Trusts is a deliberate design to ensure wealth generated from industry serves public welfare, funding vital sectors like healthcare, education, and rural development.
