Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 21 -- For kabaddi star Pawan Sehrawat, being named India's flag-bearer for the Asian Games 2026 Opening ceremony was an honour that eclipsed everything else he had achieved in the sport.
The veteran player arrived at Aichi-Nagoya for his second Asian Games, having captained India to the men's title at Hangzhou 2023. This time, however, the leadership role belongs to Sunil Kumar.
For Sehrawat, though, the change in captaincy doesn't sting the slightest. "I'm feeling very proud that this is my second Asian Games and I got the chance to be the national flag-bearer," Sehrawat told Olympics.com.
