Kolkata, June 12 -- Pavements and roads across the state will be cleared of encroachments and hawkers, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Friday.
Adhikari asserted that the state government would prioritise the rights of the people over those of any particular groupAddressing a press conference here to mark the 12 years of governance by the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance dispensation at the Centre, Adhikari said that no individual or organisation had the right to occupy public thoroughfares or obstruct pedestrian movement, signalling a tougher approach to civic enforcement across Bengal.
