Patna, June 6 -- A special POCSO court in Patna convicted a man for raping his minor daughter and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
Special POCSO Judge Dinkar Kumar also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict, Ravi Kumar. In default of payment, he will have to undergo an additional one year of imprisonment.
The court further directed the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Patna, to provide compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the victim.
According to the prosecution, the accused repeatedly sexually assaulted his minor daughter over a period of four years. The victim's mother lodged a complaint with the Women Police Station in 2023.
