Agartala, Sept. 2 -- Political activities in Tripura have ramped up as elections to Village Committee (VC) under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) approach, with key political parties finalising their election strategies and alliances.
The VC election is scheduled for Sept 28, and counting will be held on Oct 5.
The ruling BJP has held a meeting with its party functionaries in the presence of National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh, Northeast Coordinator Dr Sambit Patra, Observer Dr Rajdeep Roy, and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha here yesterday for the upcoming VC poll and Urban Local Bodies elections.
The party kept the option of alliance open for its partner TIPRA Motha, Dr Saha said.
