Bhubaneswar, March 6 -- Paradip is no longer just a port city but has now emerged as a major "economic laboratory" of India, union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Friday during the inauguration of the third Sulphuric Acid Plant of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in Paradip.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Pradhan said a new chapter has begun in the industrial development of Odisha. The third Sulphuric Acid Plant, built at a cost of around Rs.750 crore, has a daily production capacity of 2,000 metric tonnes.

With the commissioning of this plant, sulphuric acid required for producing phosphoric acid will no longer need to be imported from abroad. This move is expected to strengthen the Self-Reliant ...
