Panchkula, Aug. 11 -- Panchkula administration has increased its road safety efforts, asking agencies responsible for roads to clear overgrown bushes during the monsoon, improve signs, and take strong action at dangerous spots.
Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, while leading a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee and the Safe School Vehicle Policy, said roadside plants can obstruct views and make it harder for drivers to use the road safely. He told the Public Works Department and other agencies to regularly clear roadside plants.
The administration also looked at accident-prone areas and told the responsible agencies to ensure these dangerous spots are not just noted but have real accident-prevention measures in place.
