Panchkula, Sept. 19 -- Panchkula Traffic Police on Saturday imposed a Rs 13,000 fine on a Bullet motorcycle rider for allegedly using a modified silencer to produce loud "cracker-like" sounds, as police stepped up action against traffic violations and nuisance on city roads.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) Amrinder Singh, IPS, said traffic teams were keeping a close watch on vehicles fitted with modified silencers and other unauthorised alterations.
The motorcycle was intercepted near the Amartex traffic lights after the rider was found violating traffic rules, following which a challan of Rs 13,000 was issued, police said.
