Panchkula, June 25 -- In a significant humanitarian and law-enforcement initiative, Panchkula Police has rescued 110 children from begging within just one week under its ambitious "Beggar-Free Panchkula" campaign, launched by Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain.
The operation has exposed the growing practice of children being pushed into begging under the pretext of selling balloons, pens and other small items at traffic signals and public places.
Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain said the campaign aims not only to eliminate begging from city streets but also to rescue vulnerable children from exploitation and connect them with education and a dignified future.
