Panchkula, Aug. 15 -- Panchkula Police has launched a district-wide special drive to tackle the road-safety threat posed by stray animals, shifting 28 animals from the Panchkula-Yamunanagar Highway to a gaushala on the first day of the operation.
The campaign has been launched under the directions of Commissioner of Police Pankaj Nain, IPS, with police teams tasked with identifying stray animals roaming on highways, major roads and other busy stretches and getting them safely shifted to gaushalas.
DCP Crime and Traffic Amrinder Singh, IPS, supervised the launch of the drive on Friday and issued directions to the teams engaged in the operation.
