Panchkula, Aug. 22 -- Panchkula Police has intensified enforcement against overloaded autos carrying schoolchildren, with a clear focus on ensuring safe transportation of students to and from schools.
According to DCP Crime and Traffic, Amarinder Singh, the Traffic police conducted a special-checking drive near the government school in Sector 21, on Friday. The drive was carried out in the presence of City Traffic Police Station SHO Varinder Singh.
During the checking, police found autos carrying schoolchildren beyond their permitted capacity. Seven overloaded autos were challaned, while four autos violating the prescribed norms were impounded and shifted to the Sector 21 Police Post.
