Panchkula, July 30 -- Haryana Police have dealt a major blow to an inter-state drug trafficking network with the arrest of a 20-year-old alleged heroin peddler and the recovery of 92 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 18 lakh.

The accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Ferozepur, Punjab, was allegedly supplying heroin from Punjab to Panchkula and the Tricity region, police said.

A Haryana Police spokesperson said the action was taken by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Panchkula Police under the supervision of Commissioner of Police IPS Pankaj Nain as part of the Haryana Government's Drug-Free Haryana Campaign.
