Panchkula, Aug. 4 -- As the enrolment deadline nears, the Panchkula district administration has increased efforts to expand coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Banks and the implementing insurance company have been instructed to maximise farmer registrations by August 18.
Chairing the 17th meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee and District Level Grievance Redressal Committee under PMFBY, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma asked officials to launch an aggressive awareness campaign to encourage more farmers to insure their kharif crops against natural calamities and other risks.
