Lucknow, Aug. 29 -- The dedicated Uttar Pradesh Backward Classes Commission, set up to examine reservation for the three-tier Panchayat elections, is likely to submit its report only in November or December, making it increasingly likely that the rural local body polls will be held after the 2027 Assembly elections.
The Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are due in early 2027. In the meantime, village heads, or Pradhans, are likely to receive another six-month extension as administrators.
