Kochi, March 28 -- In a major step towards strengthening the diagnosis and management of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) in India, the BuILD Pan-India ILD Digital Registry,hailed as the country's first comprehensive digital registry for ILD,was launched at Amrita Hospital, here today.

The initiative was formally inaugurated by Senior Medical Administrator Dr. Ajoy Menon, marking a significant milestone in addressing a disease that remains underdiagnosed despite India contributing nearly 10-15% of the global ILD burden.

With an estimated prevalence of 20-40 cases per 100,000 population, experts say the need for structured data and coordinated care has become increasingly urgent.
