Spin Boldak, Sept. 25 -- A Pakistani border post in Spin Boldak district was reportedly destroyed in a retaliatory strike by Afghan Taliban forces following Pakistan's latest airstrikes in southern and eastern Afghanistan, as tensions between the two neighbours continue to escalate.
The Taliban's 205 Al-Badr Corps said it launched the attack after Pakistani forces shelled the Cargo area of Spin Boldak throughout Wednesday. Al Badr Corps spokesperson Nazir Ahmad Shakib said Afghan forces then carried out a counterattack against a Pakistani military position near the border.
